517 Heroes - Keep the nominations coming!

Here is a short blurb from one of our nominations,

"As a one-woman show, she devotes countless hours of her own time and money to collect items of clothing for those individuals and families in need of shoes, coats, clothes, etc. In the summertime, she collects used sporting goods such as footballs, soccer balls, and basketballs and distributes them to Lansing area children who are playing at parks. Throughout the year she stocks her car with hand-assembled "care packages" full of hygiene necessities and gives them to those she encounters in her everyday life who might need them.

She also spends a considerable amount of her own income on little random acts of kindness. One of her main avenues for this is little envelopes containing a gift card and little notes of encouragement or inspiration. She keeps a stack of them on her at all times and hands them out to residents when she feels someone could use something to brighten their day, or as an acknowledgment when she notices someone doing something good in the community. She's also known to frequently to deliver pizzas to the local fire station for the first responders, or donuts to nurses at the hospital".
