Here’s some good advice from one of my favorite, trustworthy roofing companies that’s worth a read:

Here we go again! Tips and advice for post storm damage

1. Don’t just call in a claim before having it inspected by someone that you trust or someone you know trusts who will show you the damage. Just because hail hit you, doesn’t mean you need a roof.
2. Look around. If you don’t see any damage on gutters, window screens, fences, etc., then it probably didn’t damage your roof.
3. Door knockers just set their alarms and they’re coming. Don’t sign anything unless you read everything on it. Roofers are required to have their vehicles marked and have their registration number and insurance verification on them at all times. Ask for it before they check your property.
4. Companies will come from every where, choose local.
5. At minimum you have 6 months to file a claim, most give a year to file. Don’t be pushed to do it right now but talk to your trusted insurance agent about what’s best for you now and moving forward.
6. Don’t do your roof till out of hail season!
7. You will be lied to, so verify the information.
8. It’s your house and your insurance policy, don’t sign it over until YOU make that decision. You file the claim, don’t let it happen for/to you.
9. Call your insurance agent or real estate agent for a referral! They have plenty of contacts.

I am excited to share with you my Monthly Home Organization February Projects. This month, I will be focusing on decluttering and organizing different areas of your home.

1️⃣ Get organized for tax time - It's never too early to start preparing for tax season. Use this month to gather all necessary documents and create a filing system that works for you.
2️⃣ Declutter + organize your master bedroom - Your bedroom should be a peaceful and relaxing space. Take some time to declutter and organize your belongings, creating a serene environment for better sleep.
3️⃣ Declutter your medicine cabinet - With flu season in full swing, now is the perfect time to go through your medicine cabinet and get rid of any expired or unused medications.
4️⃣ Schedule your annual doctor's exam - Your health is just as important as keeping a tidy home. Use this month to schedule your routine check-up with your doctor.
5️⃣ Organize your linen closet - A well-organized linen closet can save you a lot of time and frustration. Take some time to neatly fold and arrange your linens for easy access.
6️⃣ Outfit your vehicle(s) with an emergency kit - It's always better to be prepared for any situation, especially when it comes to your vehicle. Put together an emergency kit to keep in your car, including items like a first aid kit, jumper cables, and non-perishable snacks.

Remember, organization is an ongoing process. These projects are just a starting point to help you maintain a beautiful home.

As we kick off the new year, it's important to remember the little things that can make a big impact on your home. That's why for this month's home maintenance focus, we're honing in on three often overlooked areas - your dryer vent, refrigerator coils, and exhaust fans.

1️⃣ Dryer vent. Did you know that clogged dryer vents are one of the top causes of house fires? Yikes! Take a few minutes to thoroughly clean out any lint buildup in your dryer vent and replace any damaged or worn out parts. This simple task could save you from a potential disaster.

2️⃣ Refrigerator coils. These guys work hard to keep your food fresh and cold, but they can easily get clogged with dust and debris. This not only makes your fridge work harder, but it can also lead to higher energy bills. So take a vacuum attachment and give those coils a good cleaning - your wallet will thank you later.

3️⃣ Exhaust fans. They are responsible for keeping our bathrooms and kitchens free of excess moisture, which can lead to mold growth. So take a few minutes to clean them out and make sure they are in proper working condition.
