We covered some serious ground, traveling all around the outskirts of the OKC metro. We toured existing homes, explored new construction, and just when I thought we had landed on the perfect new construction community and builder…

They threw me a curveball. 😂

Suddenly, I found myself in a 55+ gated community in Broken Arrow, America, discussing yard maintenance, monthly breakfast socials, and—most importantly—getting the latest scoop on the neighbors. ☕️👀

To know them is to love them. ❤️

I had the pleasure of meeting these clients through their children, whom I had the privilege of helping a few years ago. Eventually, Mom and Dad decided it was time to make a move to the great state of Oklahoma!

Whenever they were in town visiting family, we would tour homes together. We looked at quite a few, but very few ever felt “right.”

These sellers came to me as a referral from a past client. Like many people, they had connections to other Realtors, so the fact they chose to trust me with their home sale was an honor from day one.

This closing makes me smile. Every single time.

I've known this client for at least five years, and we've had the opportunity to work together on several transactions. This one was different—it marked the beginning of a brand-new chapter in her life.

What she didn't know when she reached out was that I had just given birth to our fourth baby the day before. From my hospital room, we got the ball rolling with a buyer consultation over text and the buyer broker agreement. Three days later, I was back in the car showing homes.

When we met, she noticed I looked a little... lighter. 😊 We swapped newborn photos, celebrated her new grandbaby and my new little guy, and then got down to business.

These are the moments that remind me why I love what I do. Real estate is about so much more than houses. It's about showing up for people through life's biggest transitions, celebrating milestones together, and building relationships that last.

Not every transaction is straightforward—and this one is forever sketched in my brain. 🤯

This client came to me through an out-of-state agent referral during a season of major transition. They were selling a home in another state, finalizing an overseas work contract, and planning a move back closer to family once the assignment was complete. Since they were away for much of the process, I had the opportunity to work closely with their family here locally.
Then came the appraisal.

Despite being in a neighborhood full of strong comparable sales, the home appraised low. The list agent and I were both surprised. The two biggest factors were the comparable sales the appraiser selected and a difference in the home's square footage. While we couldn't dispute the square footage, we believed the value deserved another look.

With my client's approval, we submitted a Reconsideration of Value (ROV), providing additional comparable sales and supporting information about the property. The result? The appraised value was increased, creating a win-win outcome for both the buyer and the seller.

A lot happens behind the scenes that clients never see—and that's exactly how it should be. Sometimes advocating for your client means digging deeper, asking the right questions, and not accepting the first answer.

One of my favorite closings from earlier this year started with a referral.

Like most real estate transactions, we hit a few unexpected curveballs along the way. Through each one, my seller responded with professionalism, grace, and genuine consideration for the buyer. It made navigating the process that much smoother.
