I live across the street from the famous Ashton Ramseys, an artist, historian and Mardi legend. His suit this year was about LOVE. He creates a new suit every year for Mardi Gras. Happy Mardi Gras!

It’s been a fun Carnaval Season. I got to see some big parades, little parades and lots of incredible costumes. Walked miles on these Nola streets, consumed much street food, maybe too much alcohol, danced in the streets, walked in a dog parade, talked to neighbors, hung with friends. Carnival is like a really long thanksgiving. We share food, our space, bathrooms, glitter, we play, we dress up in funny clothes, we dance. It is a beautiful thing. It a joyful thing. If you’re nice you’re welcome here.

Sometimes I need to sit by the mighty Mississippi River and think for a spell. Gorgeous September eve with a tease of fall in the air. The old Holy Cross school is always so intriguing to me as well. With its old wrought iron balconys & ghosts of Katrina. Went looking for my favorite night blooming plant the Moon Flower. Didn’t find her but caught some Night Blooming Jazmine. Tiny blooms but smell so dense, sweet & mysterious. One of the perfect scents when in the deep of the Crescent City.

🌟 ‘What is Andrea Eating’? 🌟
Last night I went to the best restaurant in the French Quarter GW Fins. It was magnificent and the service impeccable.
Tonight it was glorious so I rode a bike to the French Quarter. Sat by the river, contemplated life and had a hankering for Frito Chili Pie. I had to settle for Chili Cheese Fries at the Infamous Clover Grill. Monday I went to Fradys and had their Meatloaf plate with cabbage & Split peas. Not pictured was Tartine with Max. Had a steak salad. Also not pictured is Breakfast with KJ at Horns.
So far this week in the area of FOOD it’s a 10/10.

Praise Report! 🙌

I had the privilege of closing on two homes the past week. One couple we searched on a Saturday and looked at a home that was not on the list home on a whim. It was THE one! We got that home under contract the day before Thanksgiving and we closed yesterday. 🙌 They are having a baby in the spring and I’m so excited for them.

2nd couple are older & downsizing moving to California to live with their daughter. I sold their house twice.1st time we were set to close the day before Ida and it BUSTED. Once I returned and got back to life we RE-listed and got it under contract in 3 days. Getting to the closing table was exasperating but after 4 extensions we finally closed the deal!
Happy to break the seal so to speak on selling homes in New Orleans.

Maggie The Dog is my best little furry friend. She is a trash dragon, snuggle expert and makes me take long walks against my will, which is a good thing. Besides always wanting to touch me she loves a good sun puddle.

French Quarter courtyard tour! Here is a bit of New Orleans that not everyone gets to see. This is 919 Governor Nichols street which has a condo for sale and this lovely courtyard is part of the amenities. Courtyards are the hidden bit of New Orleans that many don’t get to see.

Aldrich-Genella house built in 1866 on 4801 St. Charles Ave. Second Empire Style with a double gallery.
This beauty sits on the corner of St. Charles & Bordeaux. She needs some love to bring her back to her former glory. The columns and all the chandeliers remain inside the home.
I’ve driven by her many times and was thrilled to get to tour it last night. I was not disappointed.
She’s on the market for 2.2 million. Someone who loves historic New Orleans homes needs to grab her and love her up & make her shine again.
