Last week's Cherrywood Sales Conference gave us a lot to think about… but this quote from Nick Gallo of the Oklahoma City Thunder was one that stayed with us.
“𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙗𝙚 𝙤𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘.”
At first, it sounds simple. But the more you sit with it, the more it challenges how you show up, in business and in life.
Because the reality is, not every situation calls for positivity. This business can be hard. Deals fall apart. Expectations shift. Conversations don’t always go the way you hoped. And trying to force a positive response in those moments can feel inauthentic, and sometimes even unhelpful.

Optimism is grounded. It’s honest. It allows you to acknowledge what’s in front of you while still believing in what’s possible. It’s the ability to lead with clarity, stay solution-focused, and show your clients that even when things don’t go as planned, there's still a path forward.
That’s what builds trust.
That’s what sets you apart.
And that’s what creates lasting impact.
At our sales conference, this idea of a 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐭 wasn’t about always having the perfect response, it was about showing up with consistency, perspective, and belief in the process, no matter the circumstances.
Positivity can be fleeting.
But optimism is a choice.
And it’s one that will carry you further than you think. 💫
