Short story time:
About 7:30 pm on April 11th I got a text from saying she’d just sent my info to her best friend from Denver. I got a text and call from her friend that night, a realtor in Denver, whose cousin lives here and was looking to buy their first house. They were frustrated with their agent and had missed out on a couple houses because the agent had another job. I get that, it’s hard to be fully available when you’re being pulled in two different directions. I met with the buyer for a full consultation to discuss financing options, must haves and wants on April 15th and had them under contract within 6 days with getting them a $10,000 credit for closing costs.

We closed on their new house yesterday, less than 40 days after meeting them for the first time. It matters who you hire, a good buyer’s agent does a lot more than just open the door for you.

Today is the day we celebrate because without today, Jesus was just an ordinary man that lived a good life and was able to perform miracles. But he isn’t just an ordinary man, He is the Son of God, the King of Kings, the Sacrificial Lamb who came down from His throne in Heaven to die on a cross…and defeat death. He’s alive and because He is worthy, I will praise Him.

Thunder game with my Emery Girl thanks to Aunt T . Always love my time alone with my girl and even better when we get to cheer on our to a W over the .

Even better coming out with the win since we were SURROUNDED by Knicks fans who thought their Knicks never committed a foul all night long. I only had to tell one to watch his language with so many kids around, so I consider that a win.

To top off the night, VIP parking spot thanks to a friend. All in all…a great night with my girl!

oday is a special day in the McKamie house as Cohen Andrew chose to be baptized and go public with his faith as Jesus is The Lord and Savior of his life. Coey has wanted to be baptized for several years but we wanted him to wait until he knew what it meant. So in September when he brought it up again, we asked him a couple questions about the meaning of baptism to make sure he knew what he was getting into…clearly we felt he was ready.

It was an incredible honor that he asked me to go back with him to be his “baptism buddy”. It caused me to flashback to the day I was baptized with my dad. It was a flood of emotions, not only seeing my son be baptized in the same pool as my dad and me, but just knowing how proud Dad would be of his namesake. I also know that if Dad was still here with us, Coey woulve asked him to be his baptism buddy instead of me…which would’ve been so cool!

I couldn’t be prouder of my Coey Buddy as he continues to grow in his own faith.

25 years with this girl by my side! I can’t imagine doing life with anyone other than my favorite person, . Her heart is what I love the most, she loves everyone around her so well, especially me.

It didn’t take long for 16 year old Chad to know he loved her, but I never dreamed life would be this good with her. The same girl I fell in love with has blessed me with 25 years of adventures, laughs, tears, encouragement and excitement. She’s given me 2 incredible kids that bring me joy every day. She’s given 20 years of a loving marriage that I’ve never doubted her devotion to me. Best of all, she puts me second and Jesus first. She gets up every morning, while the house is quiet, to spend time with her Bible and talking to God.

I didn’t know it would be possible back then, but I can honestly say that I love her more today and ever before. She’s my greatest accomplishment, my most prized possession, and my best friend.

My best buddy turned 9 today and I couldn’t be prouder of him. I am always humbled when someone says I remind them of my dad, but no one is more like him than Cohen Andrew. He is thoughtful, generous, kind, humble, respectful, funny, caring, tender-hearted, loving, and a ton of fun…all the things my dad was.

My prayer for this next year for Coey is that he leans in to who God created him to be. Sometimes, that will require grit because he was created for more, he was created to be extraordinary. Coey doesn’t like it when things don’t come easily (to be fair, who does?) and yet to get to when he wants to go…sometimes its going to be a grind. I pray he learns to embrace the journey, trusting God with his next step, and nothing more.

Happy birthday to the one that made me Poppa 12 years ago, my precious Emery Lynn. This girl was labeled a world changer before she entered the world, and she has lived up to that title. Not only is she stunning on the outside, her heart is even more pure. She loves big and lives life to the fullest, a friend to everyone.

I love this girl with everything in me and she seems to be growing up in warp speed…and I love who she is growing into. She and I have turned a corner in our relationship; less correction and more conversations, less lectures and more laughter, less feuding and more fun.

My prayer for my girl this next year, and as she navigates middle school and high school, is that she sees herself as God sees her…perfectly made. I pray she realizes that she is more than enough and that she doesn’t have to try to be anything other than Emery. I pray she leans in to the hard things that come her way, develops grit, and gets everything out of her potential.

Happy Father’s Day to the legend! I would’ve given anything to sit next to him at church this morning or to finish that wild US Open with him, like we watched together every year, or just sit and talk together.

If your dad is still on this side of Heaven, cherish the time you have together because you don’t know when will be your last Father’s Day with him. I never would’ve guessed that this would be my 4th without my dad, but here we are.

Hope I’m making you proud Pop, I love you and can’t wait to see you when I get there.
