Happy Friday. Today I am negotiating repair requests for a buyer, prepping to list a condo, calling landowners, and going to the gym. Scroll through for a few things you may or may not know.
Fences are not boundaries. A fence may sit on or near a property line, but it does not define it. A survey does.
In 2025 I visited the island of Bonaire. I had no experience swimming in the open ocean. In water too deep to stand in, I spent hours in the ocean and managed to not only see sea turtles but swim close to several of them.
The world's first parking meter was installed in Oklahoma City on July 16, 1935, at the corner of First Street and Robinson Avenue. A lawyer named Carl Magee invented it to solve a downtown parking problem. It cost a nickel an hour. The first person to receive a parking ticket argued he had only stopped to get change for the meter. The judge dismissed the case.
The first photograph ever taken required an exposure of approximately eight hours. It was taken in 1826 by a French inventor named Joseph Nicéphore Niépce, from the window of his estate. The subject was a rooftop. It still exists.
While in the Army I had to pass a combat water survival test, which required treading water for time. I knew how to swim but had never had to tread for duration. I watched the technique on YouTube and passed the test. That is a true story.
