This is Millie. Blue Heeler, wise old woman, and self-appointed office manager. When her mind is on something, she is one of the most intense creatures I have ever met in my life!

She herds the kids when their feet move faster than a walk. Not allowed! She hyper focuses when something is on her mind. If she needs an opposable thumb or 2 to accomplish something she will demand thumbs. I watched her negotiate her dinner time with my husband and the kids over time and watched it happen earlier and earlier until it came at 4:30 instead of 5:30 pm. That was her sweet spot I guess. Now when it's 4:30 she makes sure every single person in this house is aware. Every. Single. Day.

Some people and their dogs look alike. I think me and Millie were cut from the same cloth. Sure, to others we can sometimes seem like A LOT.

Here's the thing though! That same hyper-aware, laser-focused, I-will-not-let-anything-slip-through-the-cracks energy is genuinely a superpower when you're managing a real estate transaction. Every deadline. Every detail. Every follow-up.
Millie would accept nothing less. Neither would I.

If buying a home is somewhere in your future, whether that’s this year or a few years from now, this free workshop in Kansas City is worth checking out!

It’s hosted by Pathway Financial Education, a local nonprofit that provides free financial education programs in our community.

I attended one of their homeownership classes last year to check it out and it was a really solid overview of the process.

They cover things like:
• mortgages and loan options
• credit and debt-to-income
• down payments and affordability
• inspections and closing

You can attend in person at their classroom in the 18th & Vine district or online via Zoom.

Volunteering for Habitat has been on my to do list for the longest! Cindy Sims nailed getting this organized and it was a super cool experience. Learned a lot about the organization and see how doing this regularly would build up some legit skills!!
