One of our favorite things about designing custom homes and renovations in Kansas City is creating spaces that reflect the people living in them. Because not every room needs to serve an everyday purpose. Some are simply about making room for the things that you love🫶🏽

This custom countertop features a brass inlay running around its perimeter — a highly detailed design element that demands precision at every turn.

It’s the kind of feature that makes the finished space memorable, but seeing what goes into installing it makes you appreciate it even more.

A well designed kitchen should tell us something about the people who live there.

Before we start talking about cabinet finishes, countertops, or fixtures, we want to understand that everyday things.

Who cooks? Where does everyone gather? What stays on the counter? What do you never seem to have enough storage for? And what about your current kitchen makes you crazy?

Those conversations may not be the prettiest part of the design process, but they are often the most important.

Because a kitchen can photograph beautifully and still not work particularly well for the people using it every day.

We want both!

Good cabinetry gets even better the closer you look.

Rutt is one of the American-made cabinetry lines we offer at MP360, and this project gives us a great opportunity to show why.

The finish gets your attention first. But look closer and you start noticing the construction, interiors, material choices and small details that give the cabinetry its quality.

Because when cabinetry makes up this much of a home, what’s behind the doors matters just as much as what you see from across the room.

One of our favorite parts of designing and building custom spaces is making room for the things our clients genuinely love — and this one happens to involve a whole lot of water🐠

This custom aquarium is going to be such a special part of the home, and we’re having a lot of fun watching it take shape

This is the kind of detail you could easily walk right past. We don’t.

Stonework like this isn’t simply about choosing a beautiful material. It’s about the hands installing it.

Take a closer look at the corners. Rather than letting the stone abruptly end at the edge, each piece is being carefully worked by hand so the stone wraps the corner and reads as substantial, dimensional masonry rather than a flat surface applied to the wall.

It’s a small detail in the scale of a whole-home remodel — but it’s exactly the kind of detail that changes how the finished space feels.

And this is why we value great craftspeople so deeply.

There are drawings, selections and plans behind every project, but eventually those ideas have to be built by someone. The quality of the finished home depends on the people willing to slow down, solve the difficult details and take pride in work most people may never realize was done by hand.

That’s craftsmanship. And we’ll notice it every time.

Would you believe this is the same Kansas City home?

This whole home remodel completely changed the way this property looks, feels and lives - giving an existing home an entirely new chapter.

The before and after may be dramatic, but projects like this are about much more than changing an exterior. They’re about looking at what already exists, understanding what’s worth working with, and rethinking the home around the way its owners want to live today.

For Kansas City homeowners who love their location, but are starting to wonder if they’ve outgrown their home, sometimes the answer isn’t moving. Sometimes it’s seeing the potential and what’s already there.

Still in progress, but starting to look a little more like the plan.

We’re at that stage of Project Wabi Sabi where some of the details are in, some are still underway, and there’s plenty left to come together. It can be hard to see the full picture at this point in a project, but hopefully you can start to see where we’re headed! A few of the design details we’re especially excited about are already beginning to show themselves — and we’ll keep taking you along as the rest comes together.
