Things they don’t tell you about becoming a real estate agent… 🏠
Showing houses comes with a few occupational hazards:
🐕 Aggressive dogs: Not every pet got the memo that there’s a showing.
🏊 Empty or uncovered pools: One wrong step while you’re looking around the backyard…
🚪 Surprise basement stairs: When the basement door looks EXACTLY like a bedroom or closet door.
🧊 Icy steps & walkways: Winter showings in NJ deserve their own category.
🪵 Questionable decks: Nothing like stepping onto a deck and wondering if the boards are going to hold you.
🐝 Bees & wasps: Usually discovered while you’re standing at the front door fighting with the lockbox.
🌑 Pitch-black basements: And somehow the light switch is never where you think it is.
🤕 Low ceilings & pipes: If you’ve shown enough basements, you’ve probably learned this lesson the hard way.
🕳️ Hidden holes in the yard: Because apparently walking the property is an obstacle course.
🚨 Surprise alarms: Nothing gets a showing started quite like accidentally setting off the security system.
Real estate is definitely not always as glamorous as it looks on social media.
