Everything old is new again
After a 2 years of planning, after interviewing every downtown business, after breaking down their wants and their needs. After countless hours of planning, plotting, and working as a team on something to improve foot traffic in downtown Clinton, we finally have a first step, a step in the right direction.
Proud of the work and dedication every teammate put into this project, which will hopefully be the first step in making Downtown a destination.
I had the privilege of presenting the Economic Development Commissions recommendation to the Town Council last night, and we received a unanimous approval to bring the Henry Carter Hull Library back home, in a way.. I’m pleased to announce that Henry on Main will be opening around July 1st in a very familiar location! The library will be selling books to raise money for their facade programs while also providing the community a casual meeting place, internet access, and just an overall familiar, cozy space, staffed by volunteers from Clinton Senior Connection! The best part? It adds zero dollars to the budget, this year or next. Everyone wins. Hopefully this will be a small step in the right direction, to bring investment and improvements, for a much needed renaissance of our beloved, underutilized downtown.
This is the start of something. This is step one. Get on board.
Oh, and THAT building next door is getting renovated too…
