On Monday, May 13, 2024, signage will be in place regarding the intent to reroute traffic from Old Airways (from Starlanding Road) to Airways Blvd. via Miller Road in addition to closing off the north section of Old Airways at Church Road.
𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒.

Left turns onto the northern section of Old Airways Road from Church Road have complicated traffic congestion in this challenged area. The upcoming I-55 widening project will widen the interstate to ten lanes; widen Church Road under the overpass; and add a loop in this specific area at the SE quadrant of the interchange causing this connection of the road to Church Road to be removed. MDOT will add a 90-degree road from Old Airways back to new Airways as part of this project. Since we now have an official projected construction start date in early 2026 from MDOT, we will begin preparing drivers for this change by rerouting them to new Airways via Miller Road.

We appreciate your patience as we make these changes in order to pave the way for this much needed upgrade to the I-55/Church Road interchange.
