The common house sparrow will compulsively stuff massive amounts of grass, pine needles, straw, and trash to attract a female. Because the space inside an attic is far larger than a natural tree hollow, the bird doesn't realize it has reached the walls of the cavity and will keep hauling material in endlessly until the entire rafter bay or soffit is completely packed tight.
This obviously creates a health and fire hazard.

I love learning new things. A client told me today that when you rent an apartment in Germany, you're basically only getting the space. You may not even get a kitchen unless you buy it from the tenants who are leaving. Anybody else have stories about renting in different countries?
