The Olmsted Township Board of Zoning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 7:00pm at the Community Room, 7900 Fitch Rd, Olmsted Twp.

Application No. ZC26-000001 – Submitted by Joseph Callahan, owner of property located at 9065 Sweet Gum Trail (PPN 265-16-117). The applicant is requesting approval of a minor modification to the approved General Development Plan and Detailed Development Plan for the Schady Reserve Subdivision No 3 plat, recorded with the Cuyahoga County Recorder's Office document number 201803160223, to permit a reduction of the required side building setback from the right-of-way along the corner lot frontage from 30 feet to 20 feet on Site Lot 43 in the Schady Reserve Subdivision, also known as 9065 Sweet Gum Trail (PPN 265-16-117).

Copies of these applications are available for review at the Olmsted Township Building Department, 7900 Fitch Road., during normal business hours 8 am-3 pm. The opportunity to be heard will be afforded to any person attending the public hearing. If you cannot attend but would like to submit a letter to be read on your behalf, please have a letter present no later than 24 hours before scheduled meeting.

Update from the construction company regarding the Fitch Rd project and the re-opening of the Cook @ Fitch Rd intersection

The intersection of Cook Rd @ Fitch Rd is OPEN. But ONLY Cook Rd eastbound and westbound traffic flow.

Fitch Rd north of Cook Rd and Fitch Rd south of Cook Rd will remain closed to thru traffic during the project.

The detour for the north end of Fitch Rd remains Cook ➡️ Columbia ➡️ John ➡️ Fitch or the opposite if trying to get to Cook from Fitch.

The Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works has notified the Township that the contractor has completed installation of the sanitary sewer through the Cook and Fitch Road intersection. Concrete was poured yesterday to complete the trench backfill. Steel plates will remain over the weekend.

The intersection will reopen to traffic today at 4:00 PM.

The Township has been in communication with Republic Services regarding recent delays in trash and recycling collection service experienced by some residents.

According to Republic Services, higher-than-anticipated collection volumes and unexpected fleet maintenance issues have impacted service reliability. While Republic Services has continued to meet its contractual obligations, they acknowledge that recent service levels have not met the expectations of residents or the Township.

To address these concerns, Republic Services has partnered with an external fleet services provider to deploy replacement collection vehicles immediately. This will allow their maintenance team to complete necessary repairs to their primary fleet while minimizing disruptions to daily collection routes. Republic Services has advised that these actions are intended to improve collection reliability and reduce the likelihood of future service delays.

The Township will continue to monitor the situation and work with Republic Services to ensure residents receive the level of service they expect.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC INPUT MEETING REGARDING POTENTIAL ZONING RESOLUTION AMENDMENTS

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of Olmsted Township, Ohio, will hold a public input meeting for the purpose of receiving comments and feedback from Township residents, property owners, businesses, and other interested stakeholders regarding potential amendments to the Olmsted Township Zoning Resolution.

Date: Thursday, June 18, 2026
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Location: Community Room, 7900 Fitch Road, Olmsted Twp, Ohio

As part of the Township's ongoing efforts to ensure that zoning regulations remain current and responsive to community needs, priorities, and evolving land use trends, the Township is evaluating several topics that may warrant future amendments to the Zoning Resolution.

Discussion topics will include regulations pertaining to ma*****na dispensaries and related cannabis uses, as well as proposed Section 210.11 – Gardens, Livestock, and Similar Uses. Proposed Section 210.11 would establish standards governing personal gardening and small-scale agricultural activities on residential properties, including provisions related to the keeping of limited livestock, poultry, bees, and similar animals. The proposed regulations would address matters such as lot size requirements, animal density, setbacks, accessory structures, maintenance standards, and compatibility with surrounding properties and neighborhoods.

The purpose of the meeting is to solicit public input regarding the appropriateness of these uses, potential regulatory standards, and their compatibility with existing residential neighborhoods and adjacent properties. Comments received during the meeting will assist the Township in determining whether amendments to the Zoning Resolution should be pursued and, if so, the scope and content of any such amendments.

This meeting is intended solely to facilitate community discussion and gather public input prior to the consideration of any proposed amendments to the Olmsted Township Zoning Resolution. No formal action will be taken at this meeting.

This will be a full closure to allow crews to safety install a sanitary sewer across this intersection.

This project was coordinated with all Township Departments and the School Board to minimize disruptions. Since the last day of school is June 2, this closure is not expected in impact bus traffic.
