We’re collecting new, unwrapped essentials for the North Thurston Public Schools’ Family and Youth Resource Center, including:

• Shoes and clothing (children and teens)
• Socks and underwear
• Soap
• Full-sized shampoo and conditioner
• Toothpaste and toothbrushes
• Deodorant
• Toilet paper and paper towels

Drop your items in Santa’s Sleigh at City Hall in front of Council Chambers now through Wednesday, December 31. Thank you for reminding us that what makes this community shine is its people. Your kindness brings real comfort and support to local students and families this season. 💙

🌲Transportation Operations crews provide free pick-up service to assist residents with recycling trees. Starting Jan. 12, residents may place undecorated, fresh Christmas trees behind the curb near their closest main intersection. Artificial trees will not be accepted. Pickups will end Jan. 20. Please keep sidewalks, bike lanes, and roadways clear when dropping off trees. It may take several days for all of the trees to be picked up across the city.

Be sure to:
✔️Remove tree stands.
✔️Remove all ornaments, decorations, lights, and tinsel.
