RITMO Music Fest, a multi-international act, daylong live music and culture event on Saturday (May 9) along Omaha's riverfront in downtown Omaha at Heartland of America Park.
From 2 to 10 p.m., the outdoor stage – a hop, skip and jump away from the Mighty Mo – will be peppered with some of the biggest globally recognized names in Latin music, including Banda Los Recoditos (from Mazatlan, Sinaloa); 3BallMTY (from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon); and Chimbala (from Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic).
RITMO also has marquee muscle with locally and regionally loved artists like Don Chezina; Rosendo Robles; Adan Rodriguez; Maday; and local Latin club staples, DJ JPEG and DJ Revo.
Name dropping
Wait, hold on. Don't stomp off in a h***y because none of these names ring a bell. You don't need to know their names, you don't even need to know what "Latino music" means. You don't need to know any of that. I'll have a few more words to say next week about RITMO as well as CDM Omaha, but for now, all you need to know about Latino music and the RITMO Music Fest is the word "energy."
