It’s cold out there! 🥶 Keep warm but don’t forget to maintain your home while you’re at it. 🏡 ☀️

❄️ To avoid frozen pipes, ensure your home's thermostat is set above 55 degrees Fahrenheit, especially during cold weather, insulate exposed pipes with heating tape or pipe sleeves, open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warmer air circulation, and let a faucet farthest from your water supply drip slightly to maintain water flow through the pipes; if leaving for an extended period, consider shutting off the water supply and draining pipes completely.

Key points to remember:
❄️Maintain consistent temperature: Keep your thermostat set at a temperature above 55 degrees Fahrenheit, even when you're away.
❄️Insulate exposed pipes: Wrap pipes located in unheated areas like basements or crawl spaces with insulation materials like pipe sleeves or heating tape.
❄️Access to warm air: Open cabinet doors under sinks and other plumbing fixtures to allow warm air to circulate around the pipes.
❄️Let faucets drip: Allow a faucet furthest from your water supply to drip slightly, especially during extreme cold weather.
❄️Check for drafts: Seal any cracks around windows and doors to prevent cold air from entering your home.
❄️Drain outdoor lines: Before freezing temperatures arrive, drain water from outdoor hoses and sprinkler systems.
❄️Know your water shut-off valve: Locate your main water shut-off valve and know how to use it in case of a frozen pipe emergency.
