We wrapped up The Fraud Factor this morning at OABR! 👏

Thank you to Deputy Michael Dechellis with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department for joining us and sharing practical information to help REALTORS® recognize and protect against today’s most common fraud risks.

From wire fraud and identity theft to seller impersonation, vacant land scams, title fraud, and cybersecurity, our members walked away with valuable information they can put to work in their businesses and transactions.

We appreciate everyone who joined us and continues to make education and client protection a priority!

We were glad to welcome Douglas County Sheriff Aaron Hanson to our Governmental Affairs Committee meeting yesterday! 👮‍♂️

OABR REALTORS® have a great relationship with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, and REALTOR® safety remains a top priority for us.

The Sheriff’s Office also joins us each month for New REALTOR® Member Orientation to share important safety information and resources with new members. We appreciate their continued partnership and the work they do to help keep our members safe!

✨ A Night of Celebration & New Beginnings

What a wonderful evening at OABR’s 141st Installation & Awards Event!

We officially welcomed our 2027 officers and directors, who were sworn in alongside our incoming President, Jill Anderson. We’re excited to see what this next year holds and grateful to everyone who stepped forward to serve our association.

The evening also gave us the opportunity to recognize some truly deserving members and industry leaders, including recipients of the:

🏆 Outstanding Service Award - Brooke Ayoub, Justin Evers, and Angel Starks

OABR recently hosted a screening of Divisible, an award-winning documentary examining the history and lasting impact of redlining, with Omaha serving as a powerful case study.

Following the film, attendees heard from a thoughtful panel featuring

Angel Starks, REALTOR®, Vice Chair of OABR’s Professional Development Committee.

The discussion brought personal experiences, historical perspective, and community insight to the film’s message while encouraging meaningful conversation about how the past continues to shape our communities today.

Safety is one of the most important tools you can bring to every showing.

A big thank you to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office for speaking with our newest REALTORS® about personal safety, situational awareness, and best practices while showing homes. We appreciate your partnership and your commitment to keeping our members safe.

Earlier this week, Deputies from our liaison program met with the Omaha Area Board of Realtors to speak with new realtors about staying safe while they are showing homes. Our liaison Deputies each have their own unique areas of expertise and interest. Not an empty seat at this morning’s Annual All-Member Meeting!

OABR President Brad Fricke welcomed attendees and led the meeting, while Secretary/Treasurer Charles Chadwick led the Pledge of Allegiance.

We’re also enjoying an insightful presentation from Jeff Beals, co-founder of Grow Omaha, as he shares updates and perspectives on the incredible growth happening across Omaha and the surrounding metro area.

Yesterday we wrapped up our 2026 Bowls of Hope Cereal Drive with 🥣💙

Heartland Hope brought their food truck and served up delicious breakfast burritos for our members 😋

Thank you to everyone who has helped and contributed breakfast food donations!

Your donations provide breakfast for kids and families in our community all summer long! What you do is truly incredible.

We are excited to get final numbers totaled up soon!
