As part of Chalk It Up for Brighter Tomorrows—hosted by The Kim Foundation - Advocating for Mental Health Services—YES youth and staff got creative and covered the sidewalk outside our space with reminders that people matter, support is available, and that no one has to face a difficult moment alone. 🤲🫂

That's 🛍14,536 meals🛍 made up of 3,476 hot lunches served our Drop-In Center plus 2,211 pantry bags (each containing ingredients for 5 shelf-stable meals).

And each meal means much more than food. Each meal is one less thing for a young person experiencing homelessness to worry about. Each meal is energy for work or school. It creates space to focus on what comes next. 🥣💡💪

💡 What does hunger look like when you're experiencing homelessness?

It can look like skipping meals. Choosing between groceries and gas. Stretching food across several days. Having food but nowhere safe to store or prepare it.

For a young person already navigating housing instability, those choices add up. 🛍🤷‍♀️🚗 Food is more than a meal. It's one less thing to worry about.

Help us spread the word: Food is more than a meal.

For a young person experiencing homelessness, knowing where their next meal will come from can be one more uncertainty in a life already filled with them.

Food insecurity can mean skipping meals, stretching a limited budget, choosing between groceries and gas, or not having a safe place to store or prepare food.

At YES, helping young people find stability means helping meet their basic needs, too. This Hunger Action Month, we'll be sharing more about what food security looks like for youth experiencing homelessness, how YES helps, and how our community makes that support possible.

Because when a young person has access to food, they have one less thing to worry about—and more room to focus on what comes next.

YOU'RE INVITED >> Youth Emergency Services’ 17th annual Dance for a Chance fundraiser returns Friday, October 23, at The Astro in La Vista—and our community dancers are hard at work getting ready to take the stage!

💃🕺 Expect big dance moves, delicious bites, a silent auction, and plenty of opportunities to cheer on local leaders as they compete Dancing with the Stars-style—all while raising critical funds for youth experiencing homelessness.

And this year, we’re inviting you to dress to impress—and express yourself! ✨👗 Come in your favorite costume, cocktail attire, sequins, or whatever makes you feel fabulous.

It was a swing and a hit! 🏌⛳️ YES' Annual Golf Outing was a fantastic day on the course, and we couldn't have done it without the incredible golfers, sponsors, and community partners who showed up for YES and the young people we serve. 🎉🙏🙌

We loved seeing teams from Renewal by Andersen of Omaha, Union Pacific Railroad, Interstates, Strato, TrinityRail, and so many other community partners out on the green! Let's just say one of our golfers had a smashing good time. 👉 Swipe to see what happens when a little sabotage meets a golf club. 👀

Also, special shoutout to Jimmy John's for providing a much-appreciated afternoon pick-me-up for our golfers. 🤝🥪❤
