This month marks 16 years in real estate.

The market has shifted multiple times. Rules have changed. Trends have come and gone. Interest rates have gone up, down, and up again. Technology has changed how people see real estate and real estate agents, how they search for homes, how they view them, how we communicate and even how documents are signed. I’m also older and, hopefully, much wiser.

In all 16 years, one thing hasn't changed for me. Real estate is personal.

It's not just buying a house. It's choosing the place where life will happen. Or it's saying goodbye when moving on is what's next. It's moving in, excited to make a house a home, or packing up a home that held years of memories and walking away from it, ready or not, because sometimes life and its circumstances can be unfair. It's where families begin. Where kids are born and raised. Holidays. Birthdays. Anniversaries. Where the best of times are celebrated and the worst of times are mourned.

It’s also not always about finding a forever home or selling one. Sometimes it's an investor, chasing a dream and hoping to build something for their future.

After 16 years, I still believe every client is unique. Every transaction tells a story and from each one, I always learn something, sometimes the hard way. I’ve also learned that real estate fundamentals haven’t changed. Trust. Communication. Empathy. Consistency. Engagement. Honesty. Integrity.

None of what I’ve accomplished would have been possible without the help of others. Help from my father and business partner, help from my colleagues, and help from past clients who trusted me enough to share my name with someone they care about. Thank you! ❤️

A tenant can have a legitimate problem. Be understanding—but rent is still rent. You have a job as the landlord, and the tenant has a job too. Pretty simple.

I’ll go first.

We’ve all heard them…

• “You don’t need money.”
• “Credit doesn’t matter.”
• “Quit your job after your first deal.”
• “Anyone can get rich overnight.”
• “Passive income means no work.”
• “Just buy as many properties as you can.”

Can some of those things happen? Sure. But they’re the exception—not the rule.

After decades of investing, I’ve found that lasting wealth is usually built the boring way: buying the right property, running the numbers, doing your due diligence, managing risk, and staying in the game for the long haul.

It may not make for flashy social media, but it’s how many successful investors quietly build financial freedom.
