Please join us in welcoming Angela McGraw to the team as our new Grants & Compliance Director!

Angela brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit leadership, grant development, and community impact across Omaha. From securing major federal and foundation funding to leading key initiatives, including leadership roles at Do Space, Metropolitan Community College, and the University of Nebraska Omaha. She has dedicated her career to expanding opportunities and strengthening local organizations.

She holds a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications (Journalism & Media) from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Her strong educational background, paired with deep expertise in compliance oversight and strategic funding, makes her an incredible asset as we continue driving economic development throughout our community. We’re thrilled to have Angela’s leadership and passion on board.

An attorney, former state senator, Omaha native, and lifelong community advocate, Brenda has spent decades doing more than witnessing change—she has helped lead it.

Her career spans the courtroom, the Nebraska Legislature, and the boardrooms of organizations that help hold our community together. She is also a past recipient of the African American Leadership Award and a former member of the Urban League of Nebraska board, making her role this year especially meaningful.

Brenda embodies the spirit of our 2026 theme:

Rooted in Legacy. Rising in Power.

As our Mistress of Ceremonies, she will guide us through an evening of excellence and elegance as we honor the change-makers shaping the future of our community across business, education, faith, government, health, and beyond.
