One of the great things about the Slate on 19th is that it is part of a beautiful community on Dodge and on 19th Street that includes the Joslyn Art Museum, free to the public through an endowment that was a part of their recent multi-million dollar renovation! They were awarded an international prize for architecture as well for this gorgeous addition to our beloved museum! Just two blocks from the Slate, it's a wonderful space study, to dream, and to relax while surrounded by amazing art and architecture! It's supposed to be beautiful next week, perfect time to walk up to the joslyn or down at 19th Street and catch some lunch at one of the restaurants along the way as you see the amazing architecture on 19th itself! And don't forget, the restaurant next door at the indigo Hotel is now open as well, you can grab breakfast there or in the gorgeous Cafe at the museum! So much life to be lived at The Slate on 19th!🏢🩵

Today marks the 94th anniversary of the opening of the Joslyn Memorial (now the Joslyn Art Museum). During the Museum’s first decade, our founder, Sarah Joslyn, enjoyed personal time and greeted guests in the beautiful space now known as The Founder’s Room. Woods, including walnut, peroba, and teak, add to the space's warmth, and the clinging ivy motif of the stained-glass windows symbolizes everlasting devotion. Today, in our ninth decade, the room is for you, our visitors. Sarah loved the space, and we think you will too. Soft seating, lamps, and charging stations await. As the signage at the room’s entrance invites: “Come In. Relax.”
