Radon is a colorless, odorless gas that is found in the soil in some areas if the United States that can seep into houses through the basement. The levels of radon gas varies per area and state.

The most common way to test a house is to have a professional perform a 48 hour short term test.This is done by placing a machine that tests the air quality in the basement of the house. After the 48 hours is up the machine will be removed and the results will be sent to you and your real estate agent.
