What a fun activity!
Something delicious is coming!
We’re excited to introduce The Art of Culinary, a new adult culinary class series hosted by Gulf Shores City Schools. Created to celebrate food, learning, and community, this series will feature unique hands-on experiences led by Chef Jon Kastner (formerly of Southern Chili Lab) and local experts, with each class highlighting a different ingredient, theme, or culinary tradition.
Our first class, The Art of the Oyster, invites guests to spend an unforgettable evening learning about one of the Gulf Coast’s most iconic delicacies. On April 28 from 6:00–8:00 PM at the outdoor kitchen at Gulf Shores Middle School, participants will join Chef Jon Kastner and Eric Bradley of Navy Cove Oysters for a guided culinary experience centered on oyster knowledge, shucking, preparation, and tasting.
Guests will learn to prepare:
🦪 Raw oysters with champagne mignonette
🦪 Chargrilled oysters with beurre maître d’hôtel and GSHS herbs
🦪 Wok-fried oysters with miso remoulade
At just $25 per person, this exclusive event is an exciting opportunity to learn, prepare, taste, and connect. Space is limited to 12 participants. Tickets must be purchased in advance on GoFan.
