The beach doesn’t have an off-season anymore, and neither do the lifeguards. Gulf Shores expanded coverage to year-round. Full-time positions doubled, and the city is investing in having guards on the sand when something happens, not after a call comes in. That matters for families in January as much as July. It also matters for second-home owners and anyone who rents outside peak summer.

Orange Beach Freedom Fest is back at The Wharf - Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20.

Classic cars, live music, a Kids’ Zone by the Ferris wheel, vendors, and that red-white-and-blue energy. The festival and car show are free. Saturday is 9–5. Sunday is 10–3.

Bonus: Saturday morning is also Alabama Coastal Cleanup. Volunteer early, then head to The Wharf.

Saddle up: Bulls on the Beach is back at the Flora-Bama September 10–12!

Three nights of professional bull riding, Thursday kids’ night, themed outfits, and that famous Flora-Bama energy right on the Alabama–Florida line. A portion of proceeds goes to St. Jude.

This is also one of those weekends that fills condos and vacation rentals from Orange Beach to Gulf Shores. Big events like this keep bringing new visitors to the coast, and a lot of them start looking at real estate before they leave.
