Today we celebrate freedom, resilience, progress, and the enduring spirit of those who fought for equality and justice. Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865โthe day enslaved African Americans in Texas learned of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
As we honor this important day in American history, let us reflect on the past, celebrate the achievements of Black Americans, and continue working toward a future built on opportunity, unity, and respect for all.
โจ Freedom is worth celebrating. History is worth remembering. Progress is worth pursuing.
Happy Juneteenth!
