Several Clay County residents may be affected by FEMA’s proposed updates to local Flood Insurance Rate Maps, which determine flood risk and may affect whether some residents are required to carry flood insurance.

➡️ FEMA will host a Flood Map Update Open House on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 4–7 p.m. at the Clay County Emergency Operations Center, 2519 State Road 16 West, Green Cove Springs

Residents can review the new maps, ask questions, and learn whether their property is affected. You can also view the proposed changes using the link in our bio.

Once FEMA finalizes the preliminary maps, a 90-day appeal and comment period will begin. Clay County will share updates when that date is announced. The anticipated effective date of the maps is spring 2027.
