It’s time to take a look at those decks, fences, and porches! I really like this product for cleaning and renewing wood surfaces. Hose your surface off and leave wet. Mix this up and apply scrubbing into the surface and let stand for about 5 minutes. Scrub again and hose off thoroughly. Let it dry completely (may take a few days or weeks) and apply your favorite sealer. It won’t remove those yuk latex “stains”.
*I don’t recommend pressure washing as many will use too much pressure lifting wood grain and “injecting” excess moisture into the wood.
I also recommend a nice linseed oil-based sealer to help preserve your wood.
Remember wood is a dead and drying product you are trying to keep your wood from drying out and cracking...which will lead to decay.

Here we go! High probability in the Portland metro area of temperatures low enough to damage outdoor plumbing is on the way starting this weekend. Please be sure you have your outside faucets off/drained and covered. Is your irrigation Backflow shut down and winterized? Do you have exposed pipes in your garage?
