In Naperville, the school district boundary can run down the middle of a single street.

District 203 covers central and northern Naperville, feeding Naperville Central and Naperville North. District 204 covers the south and west sides, feeding Neuqua Valley, Waubonsie Valley, and Metea Valley. Will County homeowners: your property tax appeal window closes September 14.

If your assessment notice landed heavier than expected this year, you have two real options before that date. You can build an appeal with the Will County Board of Review, or you can decide it makes more sense to sell before the next reassessment pushes your bill higher again.

Either path starts the same way: knowing what your home is actually worth right now, not what an assessor's model guessed. That number tells you whether an appeal is worth fighting for, and it is the same number that tells you what to expect if you list.

A few things worth knowing before you file:

Appeals go to the Will County Board of Review, filed electronically or by mail, using the official complaint form. A letter alone does not count.
You will want a current appraisal, your property record card, comparable sales, and photos to back it up.
You can still list and sell your home while an appeal is pending. The two do not conflict.
