Remember that office I shared last week where we had to PIVOT? Well… here’s the finished space — and what a transformation. 🙌

This room went from a basic home office to a bold, polished space with serious personality. The Iron Ore feature wall, warm wood shelving, dramatic reeded TV wall and layered details completely changed the feel of the room. 🤎

Last week I shared how this office had to pivot — and now it’s finished.

The key was alignment. The desk, TV wall, credenzas, and plaque wall all had to line up visually on the same axis so the room felt balanced, intentional, and custom.

A few smart changes, one strong design direction, and the whole space came together. 🙌
The best part? We were able to pivot without losing the original vision.

Sometimes a change in plans doesn’t ruin the design — it makes it even better.

Sometimes in design, you have to PIVOT! 🔄✨

We had this home office completely designed, everything ordered and assembled, and construction starts tomorrow! Then life changed and the room suddenly needed to work as both an office and a guest bedroom. 🏠

Instead of starting over, we found a Murphy cabinet bed that looks like a beautiful piece of furniture when closed and opens into a queen bed when needed. We get to keep almost everything from the original design and simply rethink one wall. 🙌

Design tip 💡: When plans change, don’t automatically start over. Keep what’s working and find a creative solution for what isn’t. Sometimes the pivot makes the design even better!

How lucky are we to be able to completely redo this entire home & the home never lost its charm! 🍀

The main thing that really made this place look a MILLION times better was utilizing the windows & bringing in blues to lighten the space! The light colors give more of an open concept vibe! Knocking down walls, making spaces feel a lot bigger than they are!✨

Looking for a Reliable Electrician & Plumber – South/Southwest Suburbs

I’m the owner and lead designer of Dramatix Decor, an interior design company based in Orland Park. I’m looking to add a dependable electrician and plumber to my team of trusted tradespeople for ongoing residential client projects.

I’m looking for professionals who are experienced, reliable, communicate well, show up when scheduled, do quality work, and are comfortable working directly with an interior designer and homeowners.

Projects may include bathroom and kitchen renovations, lighting and fixture installations, electrical modifications, plumbing fixture changes, and other residential design work throughout Orland Park and the surrounding south/southwest suburbs.

This is not just for one project. I work with multiple clients throughout the year and am looking to build long-term relationships with tradespeople I can confidently recommend and bring into my clients’ homes.

HOW I’M SPENDING MY SUNDAY AFTERNOON… 🎨💚

Sitting on my back deck with my Sherwin-Williams color deck, trying to select the perfect paint color for this powder room!

Choosing paint is rarely as simple as finding a pretty color on a paint chip. For this room, I’m working with a dramatic black botanical wallpaper and a black vanity. The wallpaper gives me my color story — beautiful sage and olive greens, muted blue-grays, warm golds and creamy neutrals.

Now I’m comparing those undertones to find just the right soft sage green. Some are too blue. Some are too gray. Some are too dark. And somewhere in all of these swatches is the winner! 😂

Designer Tip: Never choose a paint color by looking at the paint chip alone. Compare it directly to the wallpaper, flooring, cabinetry, fabrics and other finishes that will actually be in the room.

This is one of those behind-the-scenes parts of interior design that clients don’t always see — sometimes finding the perfect color means looking at a whole lot of colors first!
