Taking a moment to give thanks for what has truly been an amazing career. Every year, I host a “Pie Day” the Saturday before Thanksgiving—a small way to give back to the people who trusted me with one of the biggest and sometimes scariest purchases of their lives: their homes. For 29 years, I’ve given Bakers Square pies to my clients, and this year was a record breaker. 105 past clients and their families stopped by to visit, enjoy some treats, and pick up their pies. Over time, my clients have gotten to know one another and now look forward to coming back each year just to catch up.

As I looked around a very crowded room yesterday, I found myself reminiscing about the stories behind each family. From the fear of almost being homeless while we searched for the perfect new home… to watching a baby take his first steps toward me in the basement of what would become his parents’ first home. I’ve cried tears of sadness hearing about the loss of loved ones, and tears of joy learning about upcoming weddings and new babies.

I thank God that I “fell” into this career 29 years ago—one that has brought its fair share of sleepless nights, but also some of the most gratifying moments of my life. These memories and stories fill my heart, and I know they’ll continue to warm it for many years to come. See you all next year at our 2026 Pie Day giveaway!
