MAY 19 | 4 STEPS TO SAVING FOR A HOME

No one ever runs before they walk…It starts with one foot in front of the other – taking one step at a time. Saving for a home is very similar. We don’t just jump right in and say, “We’re buying a home tomorrow!”.
Well, at least we shouldn’t 😅 Not if we want to avoid an innumerable amount of pitfalls and unnecessary expenses.



Here’s what I recommend:



🔸Talk to a mortgage expert to get an estimate of the cash needed to close
🔸Allocate a monthly savings goal
🔸Trim your expenses as much as possible
🔸Find out your credit score and improve it

Like anything, we have to take steps that lead us to other steps – that eventually lead us to our goal.

Sometimes we fail to take into consideration the estimated costs for things we might need after the move-in.

This may be painting walls that are faded or chipped, updating rooms with that big screen tv, or even adding a lovely sofa set to make things a little more comfortable. ✨✨
Remember, no matter how small or large, every home purchase will always come with after closing expenses. So don’t be caught off guard and always have little extra cash or a budget to get started. 👍

Most buyers plan the houses they’ll see over the weekend. Fresh listings will catch their eye faster, and they’ll be more likely to want to see it right away to get ahead of the competition.

If you list your house near the end of the week, you’ll have a better chance of it being viewed and even possibly have multiple offers on it faster.

As a first-time buyer, there are many questions that arise in your journey. 🤔

The most important questions?

✔️Am I financially capable of affording a home?
✔️Is my job and level of income stable enough for the type of home I want?
✔️How will my credit affect my monthly payments?

These, among others, are questions we need to ask ourselves when preparing to buy a home.

Remember, no dream home is without its flaws or setbacks and the last thing you want is to be ill-prepared for the journey to home-ownership. 👌👌
