Working through grief is a full-time job nobody applies for. And after the Venezuela earthquakes, a lot of us in Orlando got hired without notice.
My family is living in two worlds right now — showing up for clients by day, showing up for Venezuela by night. And I know we’re not the only ones. If you’ve answered a work call with your heart somewhere else this week, this post is for you. If you’ve felt guilty for laughing, for posting, for having a normal Tuesday — also for you.
Here’s what I’ve learned 12 days in: going back to your routine isn’t forgetting. It’s how helping stays sustainable. The Venezuelan community here and everywhere is proof — we’ve been loving that country from a distance our whole lives. This is just the heaviest chapter.
You don’t have to be Venezuelan for this to hit. You just have to be human with a group chat.
If you want to help with earthquake relief from here — donations, supplies, or the $0 ways — comment AHORA and I’ll DM you the guide. English y español, obviously. 🇻🇪
