Nobody is saying calculus is useless.

That’s not the point.

The point is that millions of kids can graph a parabola but have no clue how a credit score works, what compound growth can do, why insurance matters, or how taxes quietly eat a paycheck alive.

They can memorize formulas.

But they graduate without understanding the systems that are actually waiting on them the second adulthood starts.

Car loans.
Credit cards.
Rent.
Withholding.
Interest.
Coverage limits.
Mortgages.
Deductibles.

Real life shows up fast.

And for a lot of young adults, the first financial lesson is not a class.

It’s a mistake.

An overdraft fee.
A bad car deal.
A maxed-out credit card.
A tax surprise.
A payment they can’t get out from under.

That’s backwards.

School should help kids build a life, not just pass a test.

Teach the academics.

Fine.

But acting like personal finance is some side topic while teenagers are one bad decision away from a six-year mess is wild.
