Coverage A—also known as Dwelling Coverage, generally helps protect the physical structure of your home, including the roof, walls, ceilings, flooring, built-in cabinets, and attached structures when damage results from a covered cause of loss.

However, coverage, exclusions, limitations, and deductibles can vary between policies. That’s why understanding your policy before property damage happens is so important.

⛈️ When a storm makes landfall, the damage doesn’t always end when the wind and rain stop.

Strong winds can lift or loosen shingles, allowing water to enter the home and cause ceiling stains, cracks, moisture damage, and other interior problems. Some damage may not be noticeable immediately, which is why homeowners should inspect their property and take action as soon as it is safe.
