What's been happening in the housing market?

Mortgage rates have decreased consistently in the last 6 weeks, which has brought more buyer interest.

The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage was 7.03% as of last week.

The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage was 6.29% as of last week.

We are definitely headed in the right direction.

So, there has been a lot of talk about home prices this year. One topic that gets overlooked by homebuyers is the cost of materials. Part of the housing shortage is tied directly to material costs.

The cost to build homes has risen exponentially since the pandemic! Once these costs start to decline it could improve the supply/demand issues which could help the overall affordability issue we are facing in the housing market!
