What’s the difference between buying Disney Vacation Club direct from Disney vs. buying DVC resale? 🤔

Buying a Disney Vacation Club contract on the resale market can save you thousands compared to purchasing points directly from Disney—but there are some important DVC resale restrictions you should understand before deciding which option is right for you.

🏰 RESORT ACCESS
Buy resale at one of the 14 original DVC resorts, and those points can be used across any of those original resorts.

Resale points purchased at Disney’s Riviera Resort, The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, or The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort have additional restrictions and generally can only be used at that home resort.

Can you use Vero Beach DVC points at Walt Disney World? Yes — even with a resale contract. 🌴➡️🏰

Your home resort just gives you first dibs: book there at 11 months out. At 7 months, your points open up to all of the original 14 DVC resorts, resale or not — think the Polynesian, the BoardWalk, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and beyond!

The only resorts where resale buyers are restricted to their home resort are Disney's Riviera Resort, The Cabins at Fort Wilderness, and The Villas at Disneyland Hotel — all newer properties with resale restrictions attached.
