Happy Thanksgiving from my family and here a little history behind the tradition my family and I adopted! 🦃
Every Thanksgiving, millions of Americans lace up for a Turkey Trot a tradition that began with just six runners braving the cold in Buffalo, New York, in 1896. By the 2000s, Thanksgiving officially became the most popular running day in America, with Turkey Trots drawing families, seasoned athletes, and first-timers alike.
Here in Orlando, that tradition carries its own special meaning.
🧡 The 36th Seniors First, Inc. Turkey Trot
Organized by Track Shack Events, thousands gathered in Orlando at Lake Eola, raising funds for critical programs like Meals on Wheels and senior support services across Central Florida. It was the largest turnout yet.
This event reminds us that Thanksgiving is not just about what’s on the table but about how we show up for one another. The Turkey Trot isn’t just history; it’s community impact in motion.
🏡 Why This Matters in Real Estate
Strong neighborhoods are built on rituals that bring people together.
When we support our seniors, honor our traditions, and show up as a community, we strengthen the very foundation of what “home” means.
Events like this are a powerful reminder that real estate is more than transactions it’s about people, belonging, and the communities we help build.
Wishing everyone a warm, meaningful, and connected Thanksgiving. 🍁🦃
