Last year, for our 20th wedding anniversary, I upgraded my wife’s wedding ring. ❤️ And when she asked me what I wanted, I told her, “Nothing babe. Don’t get me anything.”
That’s honestly how I am. I’m not someone who spends a lot of money on myself or treats myself to nice things. I’d much rather invest in my family, my business, my team, vacations or create experiences together.
But over the past few months, my wife started talking about getting me a Rolex. She kept bringing it up…especially because of the way they hold their value. I kept brushing it off.
Then our 21st wedding anniversary came around and she surprised me with a Rolex.
But honestly, her thoughtfulness means so much more to me than the watch itself.
It reminds me that after 21 years of marriage, she still knows how to surprise me. She knows the things I would never buy for myself. And she knows that sometimes I need to be reminded that it’s okay to enjoy the blessings God has allowed us to have.
I spend so much of my life taking care of everyone else that sometimes I forget to do something for myself.
So, thank you, Joanne… for pushing the subject when I kept saying I didn’t need anything.
And thank you for 21 years of loving me, believing in me, building with me, and doing life with me.
The Rolex is beautiful.
But after 21 years, having you beside me is still the greatest gift I could ever receive. ❤️
21 years down. And I’d choose you all over again.
