Move-in ready does not always mean problem-free.
A home can look clean, updated, and photo-ready while still giving you clues that something needs a closer look.
Here are the details I would not ignore at a showing:
๐ฏ1. Fresh paint in random spots. One newly painted room or patched area can be innocent, but it can also be covering stains, moisture, or past repairs.
๐ก2. Strong candles or air fresheners. A clean home does not need to fight that hard to smell good. Heavy scent can be a reason to look for moisture, pets, smoke, or mildew.
๐ช3. Doors and windows that stick. That can be seasonal movement, but it can also point to settling, moisture, or other issues worth asking about.
๐จ4. Repairs with no paperwork. Electrical, plumbing, or structural work should have a clear story and, when required, permits.
๐ค5. Vague disclosures. Blank answers, unclear wording, or discomfort with follow-up questions deserve attention.
โจ๏ธ6. Pressure to skip inspection. That is not confidence. That is a warning sign.
You do not have to panic. You just have to slow down before you sign.
Save this for later. Send it to someone who needs to see this
