May 14: Take Some Time to Pray
"May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, Prosperity within your palaces."
Psalm 122:6-7
If you love God, you’ll love His story, people, and land. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob made a covenant with the Jewish people and promised them a nation. That nation, Israel, is the foundation and birthplace of our Christian faith. It holds our biblical heritage in which we honor God and partake of His blessings. We are responsible for playing a crucial role in shaping the future of the State of Israel as a Jewish homeland. The nation of Israel was re-established on May 14, 1948, and has been America’s staunchest ally in the Middle East. Israel holds prophetic significance in our past, present, and future. Jesus went to Jerusalem with His parents every year for the Passover feast. Years later, Jesus died on a hill outside of Jerusalem. He became the Passover Lamb, whose blood atoned for the sin of the world. It was in the Temple in Jerusalem that the veil separating man from the presence of God in the Holy of Holies was torn from top to bottom. Take some time to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for peace in Israel. Pray that the eyes of the Israelites would be opened to see Jesus as their Messiah.
Pray that all who visit Israel will experience Jesus. Paula White
