Pretty good article overall. But I do have to clarify some points made.
1. In Orange and most of Osceola, buying is better than renting. And depending on the type of loan you might not need a big upfront payment.
2. Yes, I've found financing for my buyers with Zero money down!
3. Real Estate is going up in value overall (we are recovering from a recession). There's going to be a bigger increase in home sales in August and you can always find out what your home is worth by contacting your local Realtor, Me!
4. Right now the rates are low so most of the loans are on a fixed rate and if you make more than one monthly payment per month in the beginning of your loan, you can cut your 30 years down as much as 5 yrs!
5. There are other costs, again for some people depending on your loan and depending when you sell or purchase your home.

First-time homebuyers may get a lot of advice, but some 'conventional wisdom' is best ignored. Here's the truth.
