I havenโ€™t heard about this until today, since the I have run across at least three stories!! This one describes what is going on the best. Pray for Indiana they need aid! We need some organizations to get behind this and begin to collect items for these people!! Communities please come together and letโ€™s see what we can do!

๐Ÿšจ INDIANA IS STILL IN CRISIS โ€” 8 DAYS LATER ๐Ÿšจ

What is happening in Indiana right now deserves attention.

After a series of devastating storms beginning August 11, communities across the state have been dealing with tornadoes, destructive winds, historic flooding, downed trees, washed-out roads and widespread power outages.

In Northwest Indiana, the storm caused what NIPSCO described as the largest outage event in the companyโ€™s history. Some residents have now been WITHOUT POWER FOR 8 DAYS โ€” and some have been told they may not get their power restored until AUGUST 25.

Think about thatโ€ฆ 8 days already without electricity, with potentially almost another week still to go.

At the height of the disaster, hundreds of thousands of Indiana customers lost power. Meanwhile, Central Indiana has been devastated by record-setting flooding. More than 11 inches of rain fell in some areas, rivers reached historic levels, homes were evacuated, roads and bridges were damaged, and hundreds of people required rescue.

Tragically, at least seven people have lost their lives.

Think about what 8 DAYS WITHOUT POWER actually means.

No lights.
No air conditioning in the summer heat.
Food spoiling in refrigerators and freezers.
People struggling to charge phones and medical equipment.
Families trying to keep children and elderly loved ones safe.

And now imagine being told you may have to wait until August 25 before your power is restored.

For many, the storm damage and flooding mean that getting the lights back on is only the beginning of the recovery.

๐Ÿ™ Please keep the people of Indiana in your prayers. Families have lost homes, belongings and loved ones, and thousands are still trying to put their lives back together.

This isnโ€™t just another weather headline. These are real people living through a disaster.

INDIANA โ€” WE SEE YOU. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ™

St. Lucie County voters head to the polls today for Florida's 2026 primary election. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.โ€”if you're in line by closing, you will be allowed to vote. Remember to bring a valid photo ID with a signature, and confirm your assigned precinct at stlucievotes.gov, especially with the new Precinct 2 changes this year.

Key races include Governor of Florida, Port St. Lucie Mayor, city council seats, county commission, Fort Pierce City Commission, and School Board. The Port St. Lucie mayoral race is nonpartisan, allowing all registered city voters to participate. If no candidate receives over 50 percent, the top two move on to the general election in November.

Vote by mail ballots cannot be dropped off at polling locations on Election Day, but can be returned to the Supervisor of Elections office or a secure ballot intake station.

Initial results will be released after polls close and updated as precincts report. For more information and sample ballots, visit stlucievotes.gov.

Palm Bay has suspended its automated license plate reader camera system after a city review found that the 16 Flock cameras may not have been properly permitted or installed. The suspension comes after the city council asked staff to investigate the installation process.

The cameras, which have been in place for five years, are now being covered to show they are not operating. City officials say the pause is strictly due to permitting concerns and is not related to any constitutional issues. Discussions between the city and Flock Safety representatives are expected as early as next week to address the permitting review.
