🎢 Mystery Fun House (1976–2001)
A quirky attraction packed with mirror mazes, laser tag, mini golf, and hands-on fun just across from Universal. It became a rite of passage for many Orlando kids before eventually closing.
💀 Skull Kingdom (1998–2004)
A year-round haunted attraction on International Drive that terrified guests with elaborate sets and live actors. Today, only memories remain.
⛪ Holy Land Experience (2001–2020)
A one-of-a-kind biblical theme park featuring live reenactments and replicas of historic sites. The property is now being redeveloped into a mixed-use campus.
🐉 Splendid China (1993–2003)
This park featured detailed miniature versions of China’s most famous landmarks alongside cultural performances. The site is now home to Margaritaville Resort Orlando and Sunset Walk.
💦 Wet ‘n Wild (1977–2016)
Often called America’s first major water park, Wet ‘n Wild entertained millions for nearly 40 years before closing. Today, Universal’s Endless Summer Resort occupies much of the property.
🟠 Nickelodeon Studios (1990–2005)
The place where shows like Double Dare, All That, and Figure It Out were filmed. The soundstages remain, but the iconic Nickelodeon branding is long gone.
🏠 Xanadu: House of the Future (1983–2005)
A futuristic smart home that showcased technology decades before it became common. Voice controls, home automation, and computerized living—all in the 1980s.
🏛️ Mercado Mediterranean Village (1987–2004)
A Mediterranean-themed shopping and entertainment complex that became an International Drive favorite. Today, much of the site has been transformed into Universal’s Endless Summer Resort.
