Would you skip a home inspection just because the home is brand new?

I wouldn’t.

Today I spent time with a licensed home inspector during a new construction inspection for one of my buyers, and he shared some great information about what inspectors look for and why these inspections matter.

Many buyers assume a builder’s quality control process is enough, but having an independent inspector review the home before closing provides an extra layer of protection and peace of mind.

🏡 “It’s a new home. Do I really need an inspection?”

That’s probably one of the most common questions I get from buyers.

Today I met with a professional home inspector at a new construction home my buyers are purchasing, and we talked about why an inspection is still one of the smartest investments you can make before closing.

The reality is that new homes are built by people, and sometimes things get overlooked. Most of what is found is often minor or cosmetic, but occasionally there are items that should be addressed before the buyer gets the keys.

An inspection isn’t about finding reasons not to buy the home. It’s about making sure you know exactly what you’re getting and giving the builder the opportunity to correct items before closing.

My goal is always to help my buyers make informed decisions and avoid surprises after move-in day.
