I had a dream last night that took me down memory lane. Not six years ago, but much further than that.
We immigrated to the United States as a family of 5, 24 years agoโฆ I was 7. I was a child, but as the oldest, I was always hyper aware of my surroundings and upbringing. I knew we didnโt have much, we were crammed into a small 1 bedroom apartment, were gifted our first TV - and from a very young age, I learned what it was like to live frugally.
I had two incredible parents however, who worked incredibly hard to give my siblings and I a great life. They worked multiple jobs, would wake up at 2am to go distribute newspapers, I even joined them a handful of times. The most beautiful part was that I witnessed them go from that, to buying our first home, and then our second, and so forth.
And from a young age, I knew that I was capable of building the life I wanted, because my parents did it.
Now, itโs crazy to look back to when we first came to Florida. I was so naive, didnโt have any connections, would confuse Winter Springs with Winter Garden all the timeโฆ to now. I would show up and post cringey videos, talk to myself on camera, but I showed up. Every day, with no excuses, I was out there giving it my best. Now I look back, and even though I was inexperienced, I planted those seeds that still feed me to this day.
I would look at some of my colleagues and hope that one day it would be meโฆ and then one day, it was me. At only 31 years, I am so grateful for the life that Iโve lived already. The experience that Iโve been able to gain at a young age, the things Iโve been able to accomplish in my personal and work life.
There isnโt a reason for this post other than to express my gratitude.
We go through things, so we can grow through them, and there isnโt anything that excites me more than growth. If youโve been watching my Florida journey since its inception, thank you for being there and for supporting.
I am so grateful for the last 6 years, and I am genuinely so excited for the next 6 to come.
