🍂🎃 Living Like a Local: Southern Hill Farms Fall Festival 🎃🍂

Fall in Florida may still feel a little like summer ☀️😂… but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy everything that comes with the season!

The Southern Hill Farms Fall Festival in Clermont is one of my favorite ways to celebrate fall in Central Florida. From the pumpkin patch and corn maze to beautiful fall photo spots, live entertainment, family activities, and plenty of opportunities to just enjoy being outdoors, there’s something here for everyone.

And, of course, we need to talk about the REAL reason I’m going… 🍩

Those fresh apple c***r donuts!

If you’ve never had one warm and fresh from Southern Hill Farms, you’re missing out. Throw in their pumpkin muffins, blueberry lemonade, apple c***r, and all the other treats, and I might need to be rolled back to the car. 😂

It’s a great place to spend the day with family and friends and enjoy a little taste of fall right here in Central Florida.

🪖 Serving Those Who Served — FREE SCUBA Diving for Veterans in Florida! 🤿

Here’s another Florida veteran resource worth knowing about!

Hernando Beach Diving With Heroes is a Florida nonprofit that provides scuba-diving experiences at no cost to veterans and first responders.

And here's the cool part—you don’t necessarily have to already be scuba certified. Their application includes participants who may be new to scuba through a Discover Scuba experience. Participants need to meet the program’s requirements, and medical clearance may be required in some cases.

🎲📚 Off the Clock with Harry - Books, Wizards & D&D!

Lately I’ve been reading Dungeon Crawler Carl, and I’m having an absolute blast with it. It’s a wild combination of fantasy, action, and comedy and then there’s Princess Donut. 🐱👑

And yes, that’s Princess Donut. Show some respect. 😂 She knows she’s royalty, carries herself accordingly, and brings a ton of comedy to the story.

📖 I’m also looking forward to diving into more Dragonlance and the lore surrounding some of its legendary wizards. Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman created a world that has become such a huge part of Dungeons & Dragons history.

🐉 And speaking of Dungeons & Dragons, I’ve also been following what Joe Manganiello has been doing in the D&D world. My wife knows him from Magic Mike. I know him as the dude who REALLY likes Dungeons & Dragons. 😂

I'm especially curious to see what the future holds for classics like Greyhawk, Dragonlance, and Drizzt. There’s a ton of history in those worlds, and I’d love to see some of that classic D&D get some new life.

❤️ Recognizing One More Child

Today I simply want to recognize an organization doing meaningful work for children and families: One More Child.

Their work includes supporting foster children and foster families, single mothers, hungry children and families, and children and individuals impacted by trafficking, along with programs designed to strengthen families and help people through difficult circumstances.

Sometimes the hardest part of needing help is simply knowing where to turn.

So this post isn't just about recognizing the people doing the work. It's also about making sure someone who may need these services knows that they exist.

🚤🌴 Living Like a Local: Catboat Escapes - Clermont, FL 🌴🚤

This time, I’m not just telling you about somewhere you can go — I actually went and did this one!

I recently headed out to Catboat Escapes in Clermont, and what an awesome way to experience a completely different side of Central Florida.

You actually get behind the wheel and captain your own two-person catboat while following a professional guide through the Clermont Chain of Lakes. And when you hit the open water, these little boats can move 30+ MPH! 🚤💨

The experience is about two hours and combines some adrenaline with beautiful scenery, natural waterways, wildlife, and a glimpse of the “Old Florida” that sometimes gets overlooked when we think about things to do around Orlando.

This was an absolute blast and definitely something I would do again.

And that's what I love about living in Central Florida. Sometimes the best experiences aren't the ones everyone already knows about. You just have to get out there and explore.

🎃 Off the Clock with Harry is back! 🎃

Hey everyone! It’s been a little while since I’ve posted something for Off the Clock with Harry. I took a quick breather, but now I’m getting ready for a couple of things I’ve really been looking forward to!

🎮 First up is the Tampa Bay Comic Convention! It runs from September 4–6, 2026, and I’ll definitely be there on September 5. I’m looking forward to checking everything out, seeing some awesome collectibles and cosplay, and just enjoying a day completely off the clock.

HHN has become something of a family tradition for me. I take my two oldest daughters, Jade and Audrey, and every year we have an absolute blast. Of course, they also get the added entertainment of watching their dad pretend he's not scared. 😂

This year I'm especially looking forward to checking out what HHN has put together. Between Hellraiser, Ozzy Osbourne, and the return of Killer Klowns from Outer Space, there should be plenty of opportunities for me to make the very questionable decision of voluntarily walking toward things designed to scare me. 😂🎃🤡
