Skydiver Gabriel C. Brown crossed the face of the sun in a carefully timed jump over Arizona's Sonoran Desert, giving photographer Andrew McCarthy the chance to capture this remarkable image. To create the surreal backdrop, McCarthy used a modified telescope to reveal the sun's chromosphere, then combined multiple exposures to produce the final photograph.
