The IBEW is the gold standard in Line Work

Whether people want to admit it or not, every lineman and every contractor in this trade gets measured against the bar the IBEW sets:

✅ Training and apprenticeship standards
✅ Safety culture
✅ Pay packages
✅ Benefits and retirement
✅ Professional expectations on the job

Sure — some places might beat us on one piece of the package.
Maybe an hourly rate here, a per diem there, a bonus on a specific job.

But the full standard?
Training + wages + benefits + protection + long-term stability — that’s the benchmark.

And here’s the part people forget:

If it wasn’t for the IBEW pushing the bar higher for decades, this trade would look a whole lot different today.

Wages would be lower.
Benefits would be thinner.
Training would be inconsistent.
And a lot more hands would be treated as disposable.

Love us or hate us — the standard exists because somebody fought to build it.

And that standard protects more than just union hands… it raises the expectations for the entire industry.
