I keep Reading articles online about house down payment, which they are all over the board. To clear this topic/question up generally you would need 4% purchase price of home, decent credit history, and some job security. With all three of these you are pretty guaranteed to have a smooth transaction. Though this is not a perfect world and if you come short in one or two of these categories, no problem that is why you hire professionals to work for you.
